Red LED flashes when an error is detected (error code on the LCD screen lets you know what's malfunctioning). When the red light stays on, all systems have been checked and are ready to go. The blue LED comes on when you apply the brakes (preset percentage will be shown on the screen). You won't need it, but this controller is powerful enough to handle up to 16 braking systems without getting hot.
